Pistachio halva is a sweet treat made with tahini that melts the moment it hits your tongue.
Ingredients
- 1-1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1-1/2 cups tahini
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped pistachios
Directions
- Grease a 9x5-in. loaf pan; set aside.
- In a small saucepan, combine sugar and water. Cook over medium heat until a thermometer reads 250°. Remove from heat, add tahini, vanilla and salt. Stir until mixture begins to thicken. Fold in pistachios; press into prepared pan.
- Let stand until cool. Remove from pan, cut halva into 1-in. squares. Store in airtight containers.
