Here’s everything we know so far.

What caused the fried rice recall?

According to the USDA, Ajinomoto Foods North America recalled approximately 3,370,530 pounds of frozen chicken fried rice. The recall occurred after Ajinomoto Foods received four consumer complaints reporting that they had found pieces of glass in the product. As of writing this, no injuries have been reported.

Trader Joe’s sent an email to customers on February 20 notifying them about the recall. This notice can also be found on the store’s website.

What stores sold the fried rice?

The frozen chicken fried rice was distributed to Trader Joe’s stores nationwide. Some of the fried rice was also distributed to stores in Canada, but in the United States, the only store that carries this particular Ajinomoto Foods product is Trader Joe’s.
